Thank you to the Kennel Club for inviting me to judge and thank you to exhibitors for giving me their entry. Generally there were some lovely hounds, it was a pleasure to go over them - the bitches in particlar had great strength in depth. I was disappointed with movement which needs to be addressed and we seem to be losing correct toplines.

1. Hall’s - CHUILINN LANDIS
Dark coated 10 month old puppy. Attractive head, well folded ear. Good shoulder and upper arm. Deep chest and well angulated rear. Tight feet. Movement good in profile, rather free coming & going.
JUNIOR DOG 2 Ent 1 Ab
1. Freeman’s - LILAC WIND MONTGOMERY CLIFT TO GLOOSCAP (Imp Fra)
13 Months old, shapely youngster, appealing head with darkest eye. Good reach of neck and deep chest. Forechest a little narrow. Good topline and fallaway. Nice rear quarters. Excellent feet.
YEARLING DOG 3 Ent 1 Ab
1. van Zanten-Boomgaard & Vanier’s - COCKAIGNE CHIDISH VAN DE MEIRSE WEIDEN
Beautiful masculine head, dark eye. Lovely lines with correct front, well knuckled feet, nice reach of neck, good shoulder placement and well sprung rib. Strong quarters. Moved soundly.
2. Lewis’s - LUCKHURST PAISLEY
Medium sized dog, well coated. Nice head, mid brown eye. Generous bone and well knuckled feet. Deep chest and correct topline with rise over loin. Rear movement let him down today.
POST GRADUATE DOG 4 Ent 0 Ab
1. Cooper and Peach’s - Kilbourne TYne
Attractive balanced dog with substance. Lovely head and expression. Very strong neck. Correct front assembly, would have liked tighter feet. Deep chest and lovely rise over loin. Strong quarters. Moved the best in this class.
2. Roel’s - BREEDERS SURPRICE PINEHURST DJCH
Shapely dark dog. Attractive head, well folded ear. Reasonable shoulder placement, deep chest, correct topline and underline. Strong quarters, well muscled. Excellent feet. Sound on the move.
3. Steele’s - SORIMSWAY VALIANT HERO
Well boned, dark coated dog. Good reach of neck and well angled shoulder. Good feet. A little short coupled. Nice rear quarters.
LIMIT DOG 11 Ent 1 Ab
1. Phillips - Hyndsight to the Limit with Ladygrove
Lovely type. Flowing outline with good front and rear angulation. Beautiful masculine head with the kindest expression. Strong neck, deep chest and nice spring of rib. Well knuckled feet. Kept topline on the move. Moved soundly & with drive. DCC
2. Lewis’s - LUCKHURST NAIRN
Another lovely type. Darkest eye giving that faraway look. Good reach of neck let into well laid shoulder. Correct topline, fallaway and underline. Strong quarters with good bend of stifle. Moved well.
3. Grimshaw’s - GREYFLAX THE JAZZ SINGER TO JAMALISON
Tall dog with broadish head, dark eye and well set ear. Good shoulder placement & deep chest. Nice quarters with good bend of stifle. Lovely harsh coat.

Finnett & Heathcote’s - Ch Hyndsight Desperado
Lovely medium sized, balanced dog with correct harsh coat. Strong neck, deep chest and correct topline & underline. Well angled powerful quarters with excellent muscle tone. Covered the ground on the move.

Powerful dark dog, well muscled neck set into well placed shoulder. Good forechest & spring of rib, deep chest. Reasonable topline. Strong quarters. Moved well.
3. Peach’s - GER. CH FINROD VON AVELON OELMUHLE
Lovely type. Broadish masculine head. Nice reach of neck, good forechest, spring of rib and deep chest. Topline rather flat. Well angulated rear in good hard condition. Good easy movement.

7 years old. Lovely type. Appealing head & expression. Fair reach of neck, well angled shoulder & upper arm, deep chest. Good quarters. Rather overcoated. Moved sedately.
2. Lucas & Dargonne’s - GLENMORLICH None so pretty FOR PACKWAY
Well grown bitch, nice type. Sweetest of heads. Good body length with deep chest, needed more rise over loin. Well angled rear. Good bone
3. Samway’s - CASSACRE AELGYTH
Attractive outline with substance. Feminine head, dk eye. Good topline and rear angulation.
Movement let her down today.

Promising 10 month puppy. Lovely overall shape with substance. Pretty head, good length of neck leading into well laid shoulder. Good spring of rib and topline with rise over loin. Liked her quarters with nice bend of stifle. Moved with enthusiasm. BEST PUPPY
2. Faircloth’s - CHUILINN LYRIEL AT CALBRAIDH
Rangy bitch with correct wiry coat. Plainish head, dk eye. Strong neck, lovely spring of rib, would have liked a better topline and fallaway.
Strong rear quarters.

1. Finnett & Heathcote’s - HYNDSIGHT MANDOLIN WIND
Very promising dk bitch, all curves. Plenty of substance, Correct reach of neck let into shoulder a tad upright. Lovely depth of chest, good spring of rib. Excellent strong quarters, well muscled. Tightly knuckled feet.
2. van Zanten - Boomgaard & Hansen’s - PYEFLEET VISION
Attractive dk feminine bitch. Appealing head, dark eye, well folded ear. Nice straight front, good feet. Fair length of body, deep chest and shapely rear quarters.
3. Bailey’s - GREYFLAX LADY SINGS THE BLUES
Lovely head and expression as expected from this kennel. Rather long cast in body. Good front and rear angulation. Brisket should drop. Super feet.
YEARLING BITCH 5 Ent 1 Ab
1. Taylor’s - Minerva MCGONAGALL OF ORMANSTAR
Appealing head & expression, well folded ear. Nice front & tight feet. Fair reach of neck let into good shoulder, deep chest. Topline needed more rise over loin. Nice rear angulation. Covered the ground when moving.
2. Peach’s - BLIXTEN STAR TO KILBOURNE (IMP FIN)
Quality bitch with lovely length of body and nice width throughout. Powerful neck with good shoulder placement. Good bone, deep brisket, excellent well angled hind quarters. Did not move at her best.
3. van Zanten - Boomgaard & van Iers’ - COCKAIGNE CYTAUGH VAN DE MEIRSE WEIDEN
Shapely medium sized bitch. Lovely head, darkest eye & correct ear. Longish neck let into well laid shoulder. Deep chest. Would have liked a little more of her.

Medium sized bitch. Typical head and kind expression. Strong neck and nice lay of shoulder, deep chest. Good front and rear angulation. Would have liked more rise over loin. Moved soundly.
2. Playford’s - REGALFLIGHT PROMISE
Balanced dark bitch with plenty of curves. Good front assembly and tight feet. Deep chest, nice spring of rib and width over loin. Strong quarters. Did not move as well as one.
3. Lindsay’s - CELTICMOON SHADOW MAGIC AT SILVERTHYME
Lovely head & expression. Quite long cast. Plenty of bone, well knuckled feet. Fair shoulder, nice depth of chest, good coat. Just did not settle today.

Pretty head & kind expression. Rather long cast in body. Good front and feet. Correct shoulder placement & rear angulation with good muscling. Covered the ground on the move.
2. Gillie’s - DORRATOR GARVEY
Medium sized bitch. Correct wiry coat. Pretty head, shortish reach of neck. Good forechest and shoulder, deep chest. Tight feet. Lovely quarters, good muscletone.
3. Swanson’s - Cotherstone Brogue of Altimarlach
Mature dk bitch with plenty of substance. Typical head, good shoulder & forechest. Deep brisket, fair topline and moderate quarters. Moved well.

I’ve admired this bitch but never gone over her - she did not disappoint. Beauty with elegance & balance, along with super driving movement. Beautiful head and expression, good front assembly. Lovely topline and underline. Strong well muscled quarters. Expertly handled. BCC, BOB

Different type to 1 & 2. Very dark elegant hound with balance. Attractive head, well folded ear, strong neck. Good front & feet. Well laid shoulder & deep chest. Well muscled strong quarters. Moved well.
